The information set out above constitutes the minimum information that ALTEX is required to provide you with. For further information regarding ALTEX's processing of your personal data, please read this Privacy Policy in its entirety.
Our privacy policy
Our privacy policy is based on the following principles:
1. process the data exclusively for the purposes and according to the methods illustrated in the information provided when the data is collected;
2. use the data for purposes other than those for which the data was specifically released only where the user has given his express consent;
3. Make data available to third-party companies only for purposes instrumental to providing the requested service and within the scope of an appointment as data controller; not disclose, assign, or transfer data to third parties for their own processing without first informing users and granting their consent;
4. respond to requests for deletion, modification, or integration of the data provided, or to object to the processing of data for the purpose of sending commercial and advertising information;
5. ensure correct and lawful data management, safeguarding user privacy, and applying appropriate security measures to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the data provided.
How and why we process your personal data
Personal data processing is carried out primarily using electronic and telematic methods by ALTEX and other parties who, carefully selected for their reliability and competence, carry out operations instrumental to the pursuit of purposes strictly related to the use of the website, its services, and the purchase of products through the website (see below, section "Parties who may process your personal data").
The specific purposes for which the data is processed are summarized, from time to time, in the information pursuant to Art. 13 of Legislative Decree 196/2003, which is presented to the user when they provide personal data.
Generally, data is processed to provide the following services available by accessing our website:
1. registering or subscribing to the services offered by the ALTEX world, such as our ALTEX newsletter, sharing your comments with your friends via your social media accounts;
2. order fulfillment and related activities;
3. Payment management, including anti-fraud controls in the case of payment by credit/debit card (in this case, the data provided during the purchase process will be sent to the person responsible for anti-fraud controls);
4. management of your requests: technical, commercial, on the progress of your orders and requests for information in a broader sense;
5. contacting our service representatives (Press Office, Business Development, Web Marketing, Purchasing Office, Customer Service);
6. Request for evaluation for your inclusion in our staff, by sending us your CV.
7. Sending, with your consent and for marketing purposes, commercial communications via various channels, both electronic and telematic (email, text message) and traditional (postal mail, telephone). We remind you that, as provided for by Art. 130, paragraph 4, of Legislative Decree 196/2003, the data controller may use your data to send advertising emails about its own products and services similar to those you have already purchased, unless you object to such use;
8. Sending, with your consent, commercial offers tailored to your interests for profiling purposes to improve your browsing experience on the site. Profiling is performed, for example, through the use of third-party cookies. In this regard, we invite you to read our Cookie Policy.
When processing data that can directly or indirectly identify you, we strive to adhere to the principle of strict necessity.
For this reason, we have configured the site to minimize the use of your personal data. Therefore, we exclude the processing of your data when the purposes pursued in individual cases can be achieved through the use of anonymous data (such as, for example, in market research aimed at improving services) or through other methods that allow the data subject to be identified only when necessary or at the request of the authorities and the police (such as, for example, data relating to traffic and your time on the website or your IP address).
Your data will be shared with third parties only with your express consent, except where disclosure is required by law or is necessary for legally mandated purposes for which the data subject's consent is not required. In such cases, the data may be made available to third parties who will process it independently and solely for the aforementioned purposes (for example, in the event of a request from the police, the judiciary, or other competent authorities, or to fulfill obligations arising from the contract concluded with you, such as disclosure to our payment services for purchased products).
Any processing purposes other than the specific ones for which you provided your personal data will be highlighted in the privacy policy and will be pursued by ALTEX only after obtaining your express consent.
There are, however, some processing operations for which the law provides for the exclusion of consent: for example, we inform you that ALTEX may process your personal data without obtaining your consent when this is necessary to comply with a legal obligation or when it is necessary to perform the obligations assumed contractually towards you.
We also inform you that Article 130, paragraph 4, of Legislative Decree 196/2003 (the "Personal Data Protection Regulation") permits ALTEX, without obtaining your express consent, to use your data for direct sales of products similar to those you have already purchased and for opinion polls, unless you refuse such use of the email address you provide.
Finally, we inform you that your personal data will not be transferred abroad to countries outside the European Union that do not ensure adequate levels of data protection. If this is necessary to provide you with services or to conclude a contract with ALTEX for the purchase of products, we assure you that the transfer of your personal data to countries outside the European Union that do not ensure an adequate level of data protection will be carried out only after specific agreements have been concluded between ALTEX and such entities in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
ALTEX may find itself processing personal data of third parties communicated directly by its users to ALTEX, for example when the user has purchased a product to be delivered to a friend or when the person paying for the purchase of the product is different from the person to whom the product is intended, or when the user intends to inform a friend of an Altex.it service or the offer for sale of a particular product.
On these occasions, ALTEX will ensure that the third party receives the information required by Article 13 of Legislative Decree 196/2003 when it records their data in its archives. However, you are responsible for obtaining the consent of the person to whom the data refers before communicating it to ALTEX and for informing them of this Privacy Policy. You will be solely responsible for communicating information and data relating to third parties without their express consent or for any improper or unlawful use of such information.
We inform you that the consent of these persons is not necessary when the data of this individual is communicated to ALTEX for the conclusion of the contract, with ALTEX, in favor of the third party.
Entities that may process your personal data
ALTEX has decided to use third parties to process your personal data for certain activities. The third parties performing these operations have been carefully selected and are experienced, capable, and reliable. They offer adequate guarantees of full compliance with applicable data processing regulations, including data security.
These third parties have been appointed as "data processors" for this purpose and carry out their activities according to the instructions given by ALTEX and under its supervision (see the "Data Processors" section). We periodically verify that the processors have promptly fulfilled the tasks assigned to them and that they continue to provide adequate guarantees of full compliance with the provisions regarding personal data protection.
Your data is then processed by our employees assigned to individual services; the categories of employees performing these activities depend on the purposes for which the data was provided and are always indicated in the information we provide when you provide your personal data.
Security measures
We adopt appropriate security measures to minimize the risk of destruction or loss—even accidental—of data, unauthorized access, or processing that is unauthorized or inconsistent with the collection purposes indicated in our Privacy Policy.
However, ALTEX cannot guarantee its users that the measures adopted for the security of the site and the transmission of data and information on the site limit or exclude any risk of unauthorized access or data loss by user devices. We recommend that you ensure your computer is equipped with adequate software to protect incoming and outgoing data transmission (such as updated antivirus systems) and that your Internet service provider has adopted appropriate measures to secure data transmission online (such as firewalls and anti-spam filters). On Altex.it, every purchase is made with maximum security thanks to the use of the most advanced technological and encryption systems (SSL).
